I didn't have the energy to glaze it every 15 minutes, I just want to put it in the oven and forget all about it. So I made a very simple roasted Chicken.
First I got this whole Chicken like this one. Its around 1kg. Fully thawed and dried inside out. Seasoned with only salt (lots of salt, cause I've read that salt helps the skin to crisp up) and pepper, also inside out. Then I sprinkled dried Thyme in the cavity. Roasted in a hot oven at 200°C for 1hr 30 minutes.
My roasted chicken so malu, it doesnt want to look at the camera..hahaha. Anyway, even though I just used salt, thyme and pepper, it tasted really good. Most importantly very crispy skin, well the salt did help. YUM!
For the baked potatoes, I brushed clean the skin of 4 medium sized potatoes, poke them all around with a fork, coated the skin with olive oil and then sprinkle with salt. I baked them along side the chicken. The result, sweet crispy skin and tender potato flesh inside. Usually baked potatoes are served with sour cream but I didnt have any, I used cremé fraiché (sour creams little brother). I mix the cremé fraiché with some chopped chives, salt and a squirt of lemon juice.
I used normal green salad with home made dressing. Salad dressing I made with 4 tablespoon olive oil, 2 tablespoon balsamic vinegar, 1 tablespoon mustard, small garlic glove (minced), a little sugar, salt and pepper to taste. I must say, for someone who usually use salad dressing from a bottle, I make pretty good salad dressing (go into basket, pick basket up yourself! heh..).
So this was our dinner tonight. Akhir kata Ella...you all enjoys!....

budak2 memang suka makan ayam kan? hehe..macam saya jugak time kecik2 dulu..ayam tonggeng ni senang skit dari ayam goreng, takyah tunggu depan stove..masuk je dalam oven..pastu tinggal.. :D
