Public Holiday, Salji dan Avatar 3D

Semalam 6hb January 2010, merangkap public holiday di negeri-negeri yang penduduknya ramai penganut Kristian di Jerman ini. Perayaan 3 Heilige Könige or 3 Holy Kings. Tak tau la kalau negara lain ada perayaan2 camni jugak. It is said that these 3 kings who visited Jesus as he was born and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh dan mengikut tradisi orang sini, budak2 akan pakai costume yang menyerupai 3 kings ni dan pengikut2nya. Diorang ni akan jalan satu kampung, meredah salji dan kesejukkan untuk 'bless' rumah2 di kampung ni. Mereka akan tekan loceng rumah, kalau bukak pintu, diorang akan baca verse tertentu dan lekat sticker kat pintu rumah tu yang dikira sebagai rumah tu dah di'blessed'. Rajin betul budak2 ni, cause yesterday it was snowing non-stop.

Since it was public holiday, mamak didnt have to work full day, so we decided to watch avatar 3D that afternoon. Kami ni jarang gak gi tengok wayang, sebab I dont really like to watch english films dubbed in german. Since Hunny Bunny recommended me to go see Avatar, we decided to go anyway plus we really wanted to watch this movie in 3D.

Ni nak cerita sikit pasal cost kami tengok wayang di german. Kami ni dok kampung, takdak keta lak tu, nak tgk wayang kalu kena naik train for 40 minutes (its 35km away). Mulanya beli tiket train untuk family, 11,70€ (valid for 2 persons and a dog for the whole day in certain zones) then bila dah sampai, we bought the Avatar tickets which costed us 12€ each and 1€ each for the 3D glasses(which we can keep after the movie). That was 26€ just for the movie.

Unfortunately I forgot that public holiday in Germany means no shops are open, when I say no shops I mean no shops. Semua tutup, senyap sunyi kecuali restaurants, station minyak and kedai kat train station. So sementara tunggu wayang nak start, we just walked around the shopping mall yang kedainya semua dah digari tu. On the bright side, takdela nak bershopping tak tentu hala.

Anyway, bila wayang dah nak start, we bought something to munch and drink. I got myself a cappucino (which was so tiny), mamak a medium water and popcorn, which all costed 10€. Sini pun cam mesia gak, kalau kat wayang, makanan memang mahal dari biasa. All in all we paid 47,70€ just to watch a movie.

If we had a car, we had to pay for the parking and the fuel which from my experience will probably cost a lot more than 11,70€. That makes train relatively cheaper but not a flexible choice. And if we decided to have lunch, tambah lagi 30-40€ for lunch. So thats the story, almost RM250 just nak gi tgk wayang. At these times, I really wish I'm living in Malaysia. I'm not complaining, dah duduk sini kena bayar harga sini la kan? Its just that we ended up thinking, if its probably cheaper to wait until the DVD comes out at 8€, order it from amazon, porto free and watch it at home..haha.

Anyway, we didn't think our 47,70€ was gone to waste. We enjoyed every minute of the movie in awe. It has been a long time since I saw a good movie like this one. The story is simple but the graphics are just grand. We couldnt stop talking about it until we got home.

 Tak caya? ni buktinya betapa sronoknya kami tgk avatar 3D...

Ish..anak sapa la nih...layan je la gambar bengong kami  yang bergaya jakun dgn spek 3D.. muahaha

Bila sampai rumah, we saw that our main door had a black sticker with writings on it. It happens that our building was blessed by the kids who played 3 kings that day.
