Skarang ni musim pumpkin, so everywhere you look you'll see pumpkin. Ala-ala musim durian kat Malaysia, kalau dah musim tu, bersepah durian.
As usual, kalau dah musim, everybody comes out with recipes on how to cook pumpkin. Honestly, hamba sungguh tak reti nak masak benda ni. Seb baik ada kawan tlg ajarkan.
I first ate(do you eat soup? is it drink? ) this, my old housemate yang masak. I helped. She used Hokkaido pumpkin, which is small, dense and rocklike heavy. Anyway, I didn't know there were so many types of pumpkin. Born and breed in Malaysia, yang kita ni tau labu sayung. So I used this type for my recipe always (I can be very obedient at times).
Resepi bak orang kl kate 'senang gilerrr' tapi ada satu masalah kalau nak masak sup ni. Seorang itu musti ada kekuatan seorang lelaki gagah atau pernah training nak jadi ninja atau samurai. Hokkaido pumpkin ni nampak ja comel dan oren, tapi Ya Allah, susahnya nak potong. Sapa2 ada tips nak potong pumpkin ni bleh bgtau saya.
Its recommendable(is that a word?) to think about your bad ex bf, ex gf and bad memories you had, time potong labu ni. Bleh release stress...Seriously!

What you do after all this is sauté onions, sage and if you like a little garlic. Throw in the pumpkin, fill the pot up with water and add some vegetable broth. I like to throw in whole cili padi and let simmer for sampai pumpkin tu lembut. Bila boh cili padi baru ada kick! I fish the cili padi out and puree everything. Season with white pepper and salt. Senang ja.

Serve hot with bread.

Mami, believe it or not, I bought Sage at the Cold Storage just now. Kat esbok dah ada pumpkin, I so want to try make the soup.., tak sedap kalu ??? how? haha.. bukan salah ibu mengandong!
Lupa nak tanya, how do you make vege broth?? Tq
alahai somuffins, seremmsss u ckp cam2...kalau taksedap hantar mari Jarman ok?..haha...lupa lak, kat mesia tak jual veg broth(sini jual cam granules macam pati ayam knorr tu)..
Basically vege broth tu air rebusan carrot, bawang, leek ngan celery. Season la dengan garam secukup rasa and kalau nak thyme pun bleh. Rebus sampai sayur2 tu lembik, then toskan..dptla basic vege broth..Orang kata sedap lagi kalau buat sindri, tapi dah I ni bangsa pemalas hehe..guna instant je..
Tapi kalau nak wat sup ni, u pakai kiub ayam instead of vege broth pun bleh..tambah carrot bersama labu-labunya..and then bila semua dah lembik, puree everything...mesti sodap!
